Growth happens when you try new things and Sherry Janis Photography has been working hard all summer to bring new options that are fairly new to this area for High School Senior photoshoots!  I don't get a chance often enough to blog and 'chat' about the business, but summer is my downtime so now is a great time to visit with you about what's happening around my business!  

First of all, Photography can be seasonal depending on the genre you shoot.  I shoot only High school seniors, so summer is my slower time.  While my fellow 'photog' friends that I've met who live in the north, they are out their busting it.  Some have a short shooting season as fall, winter and early spring have snow and freezing temps.  I am blessed to be able to shoot (we photogs call it 'run and gun') all year, my busiest season is fall, winter and spring because down here in Texas it rarely freezes.  After a full blown busier than ever spring, I took June off to recoup, get reorganized and prepare for the next season of seniors!  Well, I say I took off, but I did shoot some beautiful cheerleaders and design their banners.   So what's new?........

*Destination Seniors

I have added the option for destination shoots for seniors, yes its a real thing and during my travels to conferences in other states and collaborating with other photogs from other areas of the U.S., destination photoshoots are what some photographers ONLY DO, thats how popular it is!  So if you have wanderlust as I do, pack your bags and lets go shoot somewhere on the U.S. continental map!  More info on the website!

*Senior Films

During the year I travel to and fro taking photography classes and conferences, I truly believe in continuing education and photography is ALWAYS evolving with new trends, equipment, there is always so much to learn from some of this countries top notch photographers!  Last February I took a class on FILMS!  Senior films or 'clips' are all the rage right now and I am happy to bring it to my business for this area!  Take your photo session to the next level by having a film created during your regular photoshoot!  

*New products

I have worked all summer revamping the product line, I was at a trade show in both National Harbor, MD and Destin, FL and fell in love with new products!  We have new album cover choices, new options for wall art (I don't sell anything I don't love myself so I already have some of those products on my own wall now of my family).

*Website facelift

I tweaked a few things on the website, cleaned it up, saw some thing that weren't working properly (the proofing section), added new content and got the videos all tidy.
