We have really been honing down on producing creative sports images!  Shooting a pole vaulter isn't as easy as I thought it would be, add in shooting a senior running full speed towards you AND you have to nail your off camera flashes at the exact moment to light him up!  WOWWWWW what a nail biter!  I've seen a few pole vaulters from a distance, but I had no idea what goes into making it over the top!  

Tanner is going to be pole vaulting for the AIR FORCE!  Not only that, but he was also accepted at West Point!  What a talented guy!  Tanner and his family really wanted to focus on his pole vaulting while incorporating the Air Force, as well as get some casual shots!  We packed a punch into this session and I'm a little obsessed!!!  It blew me away just the fact that once a pole vaulter begins his run, he's fully committed, there's no turning back!  I just never realized how FAST they came toward you, timing where they begin their vault!  

During our planning of this session, Tanner's mom mentioned how she wished we could have access to an airport runway.  We couldn't make that happen, but I just love how his composite turned out of him pole vaulting on a runway to incorporate 'flying/Air Force".

I really love taking a senior session to whole other creative level, while at the same time capturing the normal traditional shots that everyone wants.  Thank you Woodring family for having me shoot this session for your senior!
