We are really getting into sports shots! Traditional sports poses are a thing of the past and I've been working hard on bringing new and fresh content to this area for sports! When planning Kailyn's session, she told me getting basketball shots in the gym was a must! We upped our game using a combination of lights, gels and a technique that looks like smoke, but its not. And no, its not a fog machine either, no smoke bombs and no we didn't fake the smoke either! Its something I learned at one of my amazing trainings I took out of state. We used this technique last year to create blue 'smoke' for a St. Joe senior! I am absolutely in love with all of Kailyn's basketball pics and to see her face at the image reveal was the best part of this whole journey!
Backing it up to the beginning, we began with some softball shots at the softball field, then noticed some small wild 'sunflowers'. This was basically in a ditch and Kailyn was balancing on the edge of the slope for these pics, and then sun was still fairly high. We changed our lights to bring out the deep blue in the sky which couldn't be seen with the naked eye. Then we ventured down to a cotton field that Kailyn's mom had gotten permission to shoot in. I am absolutely in love with these cotton images! Kailyn absolutely loves sunsets and I knew we had make that happen by being at the right place at the right time. Kailyn chose one cotton pic for her album cover and one cotton pic for her large wall art and they are both STUNNING!
Just a year and a half ago, we got some amazing shots of Kailyn's brother Tate duck hunting with his bird dog. Thank you Karl family for always coming back to me for all your photography needs! Our relationship began back a few years ago when I shot a family session for them and now I have completed two senior sessions for them. I am always humbled when clients come back to me over and over. I never take that for granted! Congrats to this Industrial 2024 senior!
