I can't even with this entire session! When we began planning this session and Kagen told me he wanted shots with his quads, I couldn't WAIT for session day! I've been DYING for a senior to ask to include band shots at the stadium so I asked Kagen if we could try a few 'out of the ordinary' things. He was more than willing, then as time went on, he also decided to include tennis shots. This session was just soooo good! We began with traditional casuals and had to fights swarms of mosquitos, my soft box was COVERED, they must like black. Kagen's mom kept us sprayed down. I can't even count the number of mosquitos I had to edit out of some of the casual images! But look at Kagen, mr. cool cat acting like he isn't hearing the buzz in his ears!
This senior and the rest of the Golden Cobra Band are GOING TO STATE! If you haven't seen their performance you are missing out! Congratulations to the entire band on this wonderful accomplishment and we wish you all the best on your performance at state!
When it comes to sports, music, hobbies or any given talent, I love to be EXTRA. We just HAVE to show them off in an extraordinary way. We actually went into the 'blue hour' for the band shots and with the combination of a main light and kicker lights with gels, we were able to light Kagen up PERFECTLY, right down to the red light you see filtering through the feathers on his hat, its the little details that just add a WOW factor! I think I added a few extra shots in this gallery. I do have to add, I showed some of these band pics to an entire forum of photographers, some who I have taken courses with and when they say "THESE IMAGES ARE DOPE!!!", you can't help but jump up and down with excititment knowing we nailed it!
For tennis, we did the same thing. I wanted to go a little 'extra' there as well (where is the crazy emoji!)....so we set our lighting to make the sky pop and even got a natural rainbow that was in the sky. Kagen had a particular pose he wanted to get of him about to hit the tennis ball, so we caught that as well!
I just loved hearing the comments from Kagen's parents at the ordering appt and image reveal. Its truly a great feeling when they love their images and I know this is truly a bittersweet time!
Congrats to this Industrial 2024 senior on his spring graduation!
