Sweet little Casey's photoshoot to celebrate her 2nd bday! As most of you know, I shoot mainly high school senior photography....but I do photograph families and children, sports teams, engagements, maternity as well. I think its important to stay practiced in different genres of photography. Sometimes you show up to a shoot expecting to get certain poses and creative shots, but with children you definitely learn to be flexible with how you approach a session. Children are all different (4 boys here!). You have to read their moods, stay one step ahead of them, and learn to let go of everything having to be perfect. Sometimes you just have to let them go and catch them on the fly! Part of a photographers skills should be knowing how to work different lighting scenarios. In this case we started off using lights, but while listening to Casey's needs, we had to turn them off halfway through the session and go with natural lighting! This sweet girl loved picking the flowers and throwing sticks into the water! And she certainly loved looking towards the water waiting on fish to jump! I love how this session turned out, we captured the way her curls reflect the light as well are her perfect 'baby' skin and sweet eyes! We even got a grin! Thank you Halepaska family for having me out!
